Stay Tuned...

So yeah, I was reminded the other day that it's been a while since I have blogged. It's "blogged" right?
Doesn't really matter.

A lot has happened since whenever it was that I blogged last. Let's just start from today.
Amy, her kids and I went to the beck by the band shell today. I was sweating just sitting there, but the girls loved the beach! We left after 2 hours.

Here's a picture of a dog I saw driving a car on my way to work the other day:

Oh and here's a picture of the girls "sitting" next to me on the couch the other day:

Okay and so since the last time I blogged, I went to a garage sale and bought a very ugly print for $3. I only bought it because I loved the frame so much. This picture is what I did with the frame (I put pictures in it):

I threw away the print, I did not take a picture of that for you.
I got the idea from a VERY cool website I heard about from my friend, Sue. The website is:
http://www.craftgawker.com/

Check it out for a lot of DIY stuff.

I am SO excited for tomorrow! There will be more than 26 people at The Shout House in Minneapolis where we will be celebrating my 30th birthday. I thought I would blog now and not Sunday because I might forget how to type come Sunday morning. But I kinda hope not. I want to remember my birthday and have a great time.
Yeah.. We shall see.

Stay tuned...

Training Day

Today is the Fourth of July and we got back from the cabin. I think the 4 of us are equally full of 'puppy chow', hamburgers and brats, pasta salads and chips. Well, maybe I am more full of the 'puppy chow' more than anyone else.

Saw a lot of family and enjoyed it all very much. The girls were reminded on the way home, that they have a good life, as some children don't even have a home. They are lucky to have a home to sleep in, but that they are extra lucky to have a cabin to go to sometimes.

Just sayin'..

I keep forgetting how much work it is to pack and unpack-not to mention the laundry and dishes that need to be done when we get home. I don't usually tend to mind the laundry and dishes, but I these times of the year, I have 2 girls to clean up after.

After all is said and done, I am sitting here watching one of my favorite movies--Training Day--and drinking a beer.
Ahh, it is good to be home though. I will enjoy hearing the fireworks tonight, but I will be inside my home this time and not on the beach.

Both places are good to be at, but home is best right now.

Until next time..

What I am NOT going to do!

The alarm clock went off at 7am today because I have to get Heather to summer school at 8am. I should change the alarm to go off at 6am, because it takes Heather an hour alone to get dressed....

After summer school started, Brooke and I went to the beach and really enjoyed it. The water rose quite a bit, but it was okay. Then we went to story time at the library to meet good friends, and then left early to pick Heather up from school. She adores a girl she is in drama class with. They call each other "Sissy". I have decided to just leave that alone. Perhaps its an inside joke between the two.

We went to lunch with our friends and then home for Brooke's nap. Heather was kind enough to let me "shut my eyes" for a little while as she watched a movie near me.
Then we ate dinner and got ready for Heather's last night of t-ball. I have to say that I am kind of excited sad that the season is over.
Heather is too.
Then it was straight to DQ with other friends for their last night of t-ball, although I am sure Jaime and I enjoyed the DQ as much as the kids. We tried to make it about them anyway.
Ha.

Got home and played with neighbor kids for a while, then bath time. Then 'Tangled" the movie, then read books and then brushed teeth and then bed.
Sheesh.

What a day. Now to plan for the 4th of July weekend..
What I'm NOT going to do is bring this computer up north with me. Here's hoping.

What I realized today was...

So this morning, Heather and I ran some errands and even visited a friend who swore he had a pet squirrel. No luck on being one of the first people to pet it. I was thinking the whole time that this squirrel was an imaginary friend of his, but I saw pictures of-sure enough-a baby squirrel sitting on his shoulder! His name was "Squirrely".  Well, the squirrel's name was that, the guys name is Dan.
Ha.

Yeah, then after all of our errands-which also included Heather and I picking radishes, strawberries, and lettuce at another friends house-we headed home to get dressed and ready for my nephew's 3rd birthday. Pretty neat for everyone there, because we were all there the day (or after) he was born. Then I have Brooke who will be 3 in November. What a trip! Fun day. Brooke threw a typical fit of hers and we left. I have a head ache, still.

We got home and I immediately went to my parents house to help my mom. I love her.

And so here I am, ironically watching a show that's on in the back ground that's about Jazz in New Orleans. Sigh..
Loving my blog and loving that you read it. So did you still want to know "What I realized today"? What I realized today was...that I am out of shape.

Yeah.

6/24/11: Blue Cotton Candy

I have come to realize that when I take Brooke on our garage sale 'excursions' that she is only dealing with it and that she's not having as much fun as I thought she was letting on. She has fallen down a fair share of driveways as well. So today we STILL  went to some of the sales around town. I bought paper for Heather to doodle or write on. I also got some letter tiles for Heather to spell words with (I help her with this). So I figured that since Brooke did so well accompanying me to these sales that I would take her to the local gas station-which was having a Grand Opening. I know that really doesn't sound good initially, but I needed to stay close to home so I could get Heather from summer school. There was a bouncy house, which she loves, and plenty of popcorn, Shlushies, cotton candy and cheese curds. After happily watching her jump and fall over and over, I invited her over for blue cotton candy. She studied it and I guess I can figure why, because it doesn't look like something you would eat-if you don't already know what it is. She licked it and hated it. However, on our way home, she DID want a picture of herself with it. Who knows? Maybe she didn't like blue and wanted red or some other color instead..

Good Afternoon!

Okay, so I have always wanted to have a blog because it was a good way for me to get all I have to say out to you. I have a lot of plans for this blog, but I don't think I can do it all on my first post.
I can introduce myself though..

I am 29 years old. I will be 30 on August 2nd; this makes me a Leo. I am very happily married and have two daughters (one who is 6 and one who is 2 and a half).

I landed my dream job as a Chiropractic Assistant in 2006. I had to leave because I was pregnant with my second child (more posts to follow with that story), because I had planned to be a stay at home mom and enjoy raising my girls.
..And I have enjoyed raising my girls..

And I suppose that brings you and I to today-June.23rd.

Thanks for reading and following me (my family and friends)on this journey we call "life".

Enjoy!
